Join us Saturday evening in Riverfront Park from 4:00–7:00 PM as the community comes together for Fredericksburg’s Tree Lighting Event. Enjoy live performances, holiday music, activities and food trucks all leading up to the lighting of the Christmas tree. This magical event marks the official start of the holiday season downtown.

Bring your sense of curiosity and holiday spirit! The Window Wonderland Riddle Contest invites visitors to explore downtown shops and solve riddles displayed in storefront windows. Collect answers as you go, submit your completed form at the Visitor Center, and you could win prizes from participating businesses. It’s a fun, family-friendly way to experience downtown and discover shops you might have never visited before!

As night falls, downtown Fredericksburg comes alive with twinkling lights and festive charm. Wander through our historic streets and discover Candy Cane Lane, where the downtown street lamps are wrapped and glowing like giant candy canes. Stroll along Caroline and William Streets to see storefronts decked out in wreaths, garlands, and shimmering displays. Grab a hot cocoa, snap a few photos, and soak in the sparkle of the season in the heart of Fredericksburg.
