FOUR DARK DOORS is an original horror/thriller theatre festival featuring four original one-act plays by local playwrights. Each story offers a different journey into the unsettling, the suspenseful, and the unknown… all performed together in one immersive evening of live theatre.

At the end of the performance, the audience will vote for the story they most want to see continue. The winning playwright will receive the opportunity to develop and produce a full-length work as part of our 2027 season! Four Dark Doors is proudly presented by Somewhere In Time Productions in partnership with the Ray Manfredi Allstate Community Theatre.

WHAT’S BEHIND EACH DOOR?…
🚪DOOR ONE “The Unwrapping Party” by Joanne Vanderhoof
In the 1870s, an intimate group of London elites attend a Mummy Unwrapping Party hosted by Dr. Adam Wilcox, a physician and collector of exotic curios. When the layers of the mummy’s embalming are unraveled, the mummy’s spirit recounts her life in concert with the fraying relationships of the Brits.

🚪DOOR TWO “Untitled Thriller” by Zach Cloven
Bringing the scary laughs as a comedic satire of tropey sleepaway camp slashers, “Untitled Thriller” tells the story of six unsuspecting teens and one “volun-told” camp counselor backstabbing, kissing and spilling the tea amidst the danger of a not-so-secret camp killer.

🚪DOOR THREE “The Trap” by Michael St. Aubin & Bree St. Aubin
On a mundane evening in the near rural midwest, childhood friends Dominic and Garrett set out to commit a garden variety breaking, entering and clumsy burgling as a quick fix to their financial problems… unfortunately, they chose the wrong house.

🚪DOOR FOUR “Mother Dearest” by Billy Tremble
In the midst of a deep winter, wealthy married couple Joel and Fred invite a medium, Madame Veil, into their home in an effort to contact Joel’s recently and unexpectedly deceased mother. However, when the séance goes awry and Madame Veil disappears, Joel and Fred aren’t sure if they’re dealing with an elaborate charlatan… or something much more sinister.
